What is Slater, and why was it built?

Slater is a development tool for teams that use Webflow and need custom JavaScript.

It was built to fix a practical workflow problem. Testing a small JavaScript change in Webflow could require copying code, saving, publishing, waiting, and checking the browser—then repeating the entire cycle for the next adjustment. Slater shortened that loop so a developer could write code, save, refresh, and see the result quickly.

That faster feedback loop mattered beyond convenience. It made custom development more approachable for team members working primarily in no-code tools and reduced the number of small technical tasks that had to funnel through one developer.

The broader product family now includes Slater Search, which exposes structured Webflow content for keyword and semantic search. Both products follow the same pattern: identify the part of the workflow where useful data or feedback is trapped, then make it available to the people doing the work.
